How to Get Bargain Bedroom Furniture on a Tight Budget. Finding Furniture Bargains in Unexpected Places

Bargain Furniture Stores >> Furniture Stores|Kind of wood furniture stores

Are you shopping for bedroom furniture on a tight budget? When furniture shopping, knowing where to buy them cheap is often the easiest part of the equation. Oops! Maybe they should have spent more time looking.Just because you found bedroom furniture that is cheap and looks nice does not mean that you should buy it immediately. If you do not want to suffer from buyer's remorse, follow the steps below:

1. What do you really need and do you really need it? Don't let your daughter get away with saying, "I need a nightstand." Ask her why she needs a nightstand. Why does she want a new wardrobe? Have you considered making do without that item of furniture? For example, many people never ever consider the idea of sleeping on the floor. Sure, most of us need a mattress. But how many of us really need a bed? While sleeping on a bed is traditional and expected, isn't putting food in your family's bellies more important? You do have a tight budget, right?
Subtract 30% for miscellaneous expenses like taxes, delivery costs and maybe even installation charges.

2. Now that you have determined what you really need to do and have an amount you can afford to spend, it is time to figure out what kind of furniture is needed and where you can install or place that new piece of furniture. For example, common household items like spare curtains and bedding for the guest room are rarely changed or taken out. An airtight container is ideal. The airtight plastic containers are just an example. Think out of the box for uncommon solutions that can do the job needed at a lower cost. So what if it does not look good? Remember that beggars can't be choosers.

3. Now it is time to figure out where to buy what you need. Going back to our plastic container example, don't just look for it in furniture shops. Maybe your local plastic goods emporium sells what you need at a cheaper price. Maybe your neighborhood general hardware store can give you a better bargain.
Sometimes you can buy used pieces of furniture at a garage sale. Be patient and check the classified ads of your newspaper. Have you considered making your own bedroom furniture? While you probably can't make something big like a bed or a wardrobe, something smaller and simpler like a shelf or a storage bin should be possible. So what if the joints aren't quite square? If it bothers you, fill up the gaps with some cheap wood putty.
Your heart says it's time to do some home furnishing. Compromise and get the new look you want at a fraction of what you would pay if you bought retail. How? Take advantage of the fantastic bargains available in thrift shops, yard sales, flea markets and even the classified section of the newspaper. Used furniture is much cheaper than new and gently used furniture can save you more than seventy-five percent off retail in most cases. Even if you are not counting pennies, that's a bargain worth checking out. When shopping in alternative shops, such as antique shops and used furniture stores, it pays to be a bit more open-minded than you might be when shopping retail. Also keep in mind that if you find a well-made piece at the right price, it would still be less expensive to recover it than to buy a high quality piece from the furniture store. One fantastic way to save money when doing any home furnishing is to consider used rocking chairs and dining room chairs. Even if the pieces require refinishing, you can get real bargains on both those items. The only problem you may run into is trying to find six dining room chairs alike in a used furniture store. Be willing to compromise and get four matching chairs and two other matching chairs to use at the head and foot of the table.

Buying used will also allow you to explore the wide-open world of vintage styles as part of you home furnishing decor. Your particular decorating style may be sleek and modern but you can find that an eclectic combination of styles tends to highlight one and make it more than it would be if surrounded by similar pieces.

Being willing to consider the not-so-obvious and being able to see beyond what is stacked up in a used furniture store corner may yield you a treasure trove of affordable pieces that.

When it combines with taste and makes off with the right accessories set your place a showcase of style and fashion and comfort.
